Sarasota, FL – Doctors Hospital is pleased to announce the addition of former Sarasota County Commissioner, Shannon Staub to the hospital’s Board of Trustees.
Staub served on the Commission for 14 years. During her tenure as County Commissioner she chaired the County Commission several times, as well as the Peace River Water Authority, the Sarasota Manatee Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO), the Southwest Florida Regional Planning Council, the Community Health Improvement Program (CHIP) and the Tourism and Economic Development Board.
Staub is a graduate of Leadership Florida, and served as a Gov. Jeb Bush’s appointee to the Legislative Committee on Intergovernmental Relations. She was awarded the Volunteer of the Year Award from the Florida Economic Development Council, the Bob Graham Award from the Florida Lake Management Society, the Grassroots Leadership Award by the Nature Conservancy, Commissioner of the Year from the Florida Local Environmental Resource Agencies, and the Legislative Advocate Award from the Sarasota Farm Bureau.
