Emergency Room Notification Feature with iTriage Mobile App Launched

December 13, 2011

“I’m on my way” lets Sarasota residents quickly and conveniently alert hospital staff of an impending arrival from their smartphone.

Sarasota, FL – Doctors Hospital of Sarasota is pleased to announce the launch of a new Emergency Room notification feature through the mobile healthcare app iTriage®.  “I’m on my way” allows hospital staff to streamline the intake process by preparing for the medical needs of incoming patients.

“Doctors Hospital of Sarasota is committed to providing the latest resources and technology to the residents and visitors in our communities when they require medical care,” said Marilee Arnold, RN, Director of ED at Doctors Hospital of Sarasota. “Allowing patients to use the notification feature through iTriage lets our staff prepare in advance for their visit and provide a patients experience that exceeds expectations.”

iTriage is available as a free download from app stores for iPhone® and Android® mobile devices, or from any Web-enabled device at www.iTriageHealth.com.

Now, when a patient uses the iTriage application to locate Doctors Hospital of Sarasota, they have the option to click “I’m on my way” from the provider search or deep view pages in which the hospital is highlighted. From there, users can fill out specific details like name, phone number, age, symptoms experienced and any other helpful information for hospital staff prior to arrival. iTriage also lets users:

  • Save time by filling out personal information on their way to the hospital
  • Notify staff of specific requirements such as an extended sized wheelchair for patient unloading
  • Inform hospital staff that the incoming patient has allergies or other special medical needs

iTriage is changing the way consumers find, share and access medical information and providers, giving them the tools to take the most appropriate actions around their own healthcare. “As a healthcare app that aggregates symptom, disease, procedure and provider information, iTriage is helping empower consumers with their healthcare needs,” said Peter Hudson, MD and Co-founder of iTriage.
