Doctors Hospital Provides Caregiver Support To The Community

Sarasota, FL – Each month, the Caregivers Support Group is hosted by Doctors Hospital of Sarasota to ensure that this special group of people receives the attention and support they need and deserve. Anyone responsible for medical care of a family member or loved one with a physical and/or mental disease is welcome to attend. This ongoing support group shares community resources and ideas to create and sustain a healthy care giving balance and discuss the challenges of being a care partner in a confidential setting.

This support group is hosted by Serenity Place at Doctors Hospital and facilitated by Julie Cook Downing, President, Caregivers Comfort Creations, LLC and author of Caregivers’ Comfort ®, A Journal and Record Book for Caregivers. Serenity Place is a voluntary, inpatient behavioral health program dedicated to treating mature adults. Program Director, Bill Zella, PhD, speaks the third Friday of each month on various mental health topics in a Lunch and Learn seminar free to the public in Doctors Hospital’s Medical Office Bldg.
